Failing to learn a "lofty" biblical teaching is one thing. Try and try again, they say.

Willful disregarding and flaunting of it is another, and that's what makes them hypocritical.

Paul wrote, "All have sinned."

Since sin is a theological concept, I cannot endorse it. But if all he meant to say was "Nobody's perfect," then that is one biblical concept with which I totally agree.
Yes, I agree with you and your interpretation.

Christians are never hypocrites but only imperfect people.

I wouldn't say never, but I do think genuine hypocrisy is not the norm.

As I've already stated, if those Christians who actively sought wealth would simply admit that they don't follow Jesus' teachings on this issue, I would accept their weakness without using the h-word. It's their refusal to admit this sin that annoys me.

Matthew 6:19

Quote:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
Hi Joan, and sorry to be joining late (extended hiatus), but I really enjoyed your argument. I also enjoy Acts 4:32ff being provided for the consideration of those who prattle on about the clear and present dangers of our country being led to socialism.

Personally, I think the wealthy have utterly hijacked the Christian religion. What I'm less certain of is whether this has happened because so many of the masses refuse to read their scriptures, or because of an unseemly eagerness to interpret scripture in a way that suits the wealthy. Of course, it's strictly an academic issue for me.

Cheers,

V.
