Default Piece of Papyrus Refers to Jesus’ Wife

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/19/us...wife.html?_r=0

'...A historian of early Christianity at Harvard Divinity School has identified a scrap of papyrus that she says was written in Coptic in the fourth century and contains a phrase never seen in any piece of Scripture: “Jesus said to them, ‘My wife …'” ..'

"Jesus said to them, 'My wife said she wanted a birthday present that went from 0 to 150 in three seconds. I got her a weighing scale.'"

"Jesus said to them, 'My wife and I went to a restaurant. I ordered a rare steak and the waiter asked if I was worried about the mad cow. I replied that no, she can order for herself.'"

"Jesus said to them, 'My wife asked me if the dress she was wearing made her look fat. I told her not as much as the dress she was wearing yesterday.'"

"Jesus said to them, 'My wife told me that on our anniversary she wanted to go somewhere she hadn't been in a long time. I suggested the kitchen.'"

Missing from the papyrus scrap was the "Take" that preceded the words and the ", please!" that came after.

The first part is an echo of Gospel of Judas Thomas 101:

"For my mother gave me falsehood, but my true mother gave me life."

The text was probably written centuries after Jesus lived, and all other early, historically reliable Christian literature is silent on the question, she said."

Good one. "Other early historically reliable Christian literature" indeed.

Quote:
The provenance of the papyrus fragment is a mystery, and its owner has asked to remain anonymous. Until Tuesday, Dr. King had shown the fragment to only a small circle of experts in papyrology and Coptic linguistics, who concluded that it is most likely not a forgery. But she and her collaborators say they are eager for more scholars to weigh in and perhaps upend their conclusions.

There is nothing reliable when it comes to the bible. All horseshit and delusions from people of faith.
