Too limiting. I have always preferred the more inclusive "wine that cheers both gods and men" in Judges 9:13.

Not forgetting my oft infirmities and stomach troubles I keep in mind "No longer drink water but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your oft infirmities" 1 Tim.5:24.

I have found both these scriptures very comforting and consoling over the years.

Just before the first attack, one of the soldiers quotes from Psalm 46 KJV.
