Hehe... I got the first three seasons of that show from a friend who got it from a friend who lifted it off someone's HDD at a LAN.

Brilliant show. :P "The Bible" is one of the best, but they cover everything from creationism to environmentalism to drugs to profanity.

Especially with the Bible one, they should have at least done a two parter with that one.
Go to their website and suggest it.

I went to Google Video and downloaded the shows dealing with the "War on Drugs" (which I have long opposed,) endangered species, and profanity.

My fave part of the Bible episode is how they used old old movie clips with the captions suggesting it is actual footage. :notworthy:

Your wish is granted!

Here is the official site. It mentions the upcoming premiere of Season 4 on April 3rd. My TIVO says its about the boy scouts.

I was so excited when I heard about another season and the extended time. Especially after the hub-bub over the episodes discussing Signs from Heaven and another criticizing people like Mother Theresa and Ghandi.

Thanks. Unfortunately, on that show, they had Michael Shermer get Apollonius of Tyana wrong again, this time saying that he was crucified. Sheesh! Is is too much to ask that when the skeptics try to debunk religious bullshit that they don't spread their own?

I'm not sure who he is but Kersey Graves seems to think Apollonius was crucified.

In fact just by googling you can find a few sights that said it

Quote:
Devatat of Siam, Ixion of Rome, Apollonius of Tyana in Cappadocia, are all reported to have died on the cross."
So its not surprising that they might mention it...

Unfortunately, no one seems to know of an ancient source that claims that he was crucified. Unless I have not been looking hard enough. From what I recall his death was mysterious, no one knows how he died. Wasn't there allusions to him not dying at all?

I would hope that Shermer would at least be knowledgable enough to not use Graves as a source, especially since even Internet Infidels has this disclaimer on it:

Quote:
Note: the scholarship of Kersey Graves has been questioned by numerous theists and nontheists alike; the inclusion of his The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors in the Secular Web's Historical Library does not constitute endorsement by Internet Infidels, Inc. This document was included for historical purposes; readers should be extremely cautious in trusting anything in this book.

I'm not suggesting that there is authenticity to the crucifixion, just that people have talked about it. You are correct though, they should research a bit more before making such claims...
