Fine then don't. I'm not trying to prove anything to you.
Then the reply proves most disengenuous.

That's an extremely curious retort coming from you given your following post in S&S Science and The Bible thread:

Care to prove it was common knowledge that stars were far? That wasn't common knowledge 3000 years ago since Astronomy didn't exist and no one even knew what a star was other than a light in the sky.

To paraphrase George Carlin, I'm just looking for a little consistency from the religious right in order to actually take anything they say seriously.

Well thanks for the direction to Isaiah, and thanks for the other info. I find it interesting.

Now my next question would be about the dating of Isaiah. Does anyone know the aproximate date Isaiah was written? And please provide scientific dates, not "well X years after the flood, so that makes it..."

Indeed. Not to beat up on the Poster-in-Question, but by refusing to address rebuttals, the evidence presented on topics, and lacking any consistency in his proclamations, he removes any credibility from himself.

Now, one can argue "that I am not here to convince you of anything" to which I have to ask "why post in the first place?"

According to the NRSV Study Bible I have,

"The Book of Isaiah is a composite work, the product of several different prophets who ministered at different periods in the history of Israel. Scholars normally distinguish between three main sections in the book: chs. 1-39, referred to as First Isaiah and attributed in general to the eigth-century Judean prophet whose name the book bears; chs. 40-55, referred to as Second Isaiah, or Deutero-Isaiah, and attributed to an unknown prophet who lived in Babylon during the Babylonian Exile of the sixth-century; and chs. 56-66, referred to as Third Isaiah, or Trito-Isaiah, and attributed to a prophet or prophets who lived in Judah after the return from Babylonian exile in 539 B.C.E."

Great . . . you are going to make me have to post that long-ass quote from Forsythe. . . .

Fine . . . I have nothing better to do. . . .

Gotta love those insults. Way to make theists tolerate atheists more!
