I took a tour at the Collosseum a week ago (so I'm on good authority here ). Our tour guide said that Christians were not fed to the lions. It was a myth, but Christians believed it and ended up preserving the ruins of the Collosseum. I think that he said that when Christians were persecuted, it was done somewhere else (Circus Maximus?)

What I thought was funny was that the Pope ordered Michelangelo to take the seats of the Collosseum for St. Peter's Basilica.

Such fables, were perhaps inserted into the patristic literature (Tacitus et al)
and into other literature made out of the whole cloth (Tertullion) by a
fourth century hitherto unknown scribe Eusebius under the sponsorship
of Constantine, in order to service the inference that there were in
fact christians on the planet Earth prior to the fourth century.

I was surprised at that possibility.
I was surprised that received truth is based upon an inference.
That inference being that the theory of history written by Eusebius
in the fourth century in respect of the preceeding three, has integrity.

http://www.pasty.com/~barbspage/Disciples.html

Yeah, it looks like the early Christians were hated by their Talmudic overloads the Pharisees and Sadducee's that Christ had rallied against.

We know that disciples were martyrs, why not the early Christian.

The Talmudic followers have been angry with Christians for being the only force to break up the Jews. Now they have set out to break up every Christian Church known to man.

One of the ways they have warred against Christendom, is to send in rock stars, with their drugs and war on authority and ultimately Gods' authority over man.

Didn't the Beatles say that he had come to "destroy Christianity." Didn't the Beatles as well as say that "they were more popular than Jesus?

I think their is a battle over humanities soul, the Luciferians appear to be winning.

That's a load of untruths and speculations.

What are you talking about? You have to back this up as well.

God's pretty weak then, huh? If I were supremely powerful, I'd either not have invented a bunch of the natural drugs or, better yet, I'd not have made it even possible for the chemical interactions to take place in the brain I created. What a maroon your god is.

Dunno about the first, but the second is sorta true. Lennon said they were... might have been true as well. So?

Again, If I were god, I probably would have punished a stray angel instead of letting him rule and wander the earth influencing my other creations. Stupid.

Persecuted != true beliefs.

Care to back up how atoms mutate to create all the life we see? Why we can't observe something big bang themselves to life and then watch them Genetically mutate into living breathing entities. Each phase of so called human evolution is a genetic mutation, void of direction. Millions of life forms, with no evidence that it happened that way, only phantom physics. Nobody saw the big bang. In fact the fossil record doesn't even show macro evolution. To which New Age scientists say happened at such "lighting" speed nobody the fossil record couldn't catch it.

The miricle of birth. Did you know the human body gains 1,500 million times its weight from the moment of conception, to the time he goes out the birth canal? That alone requires understanding. Did you know that a womans breast milk is better and raises the IQ of a baby, the longer he is exposed to it? Man cannot duplicate that quality of what comes from a woman. It's too bad today women are too busy chasing a career, than to take the time to give the baby the best thing for him!!!

Quote:
Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers? (Job 31:15).

Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast. From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God (Psalm 22:9-10).
Care to tell me how each human has 256 different differences in each human eye, that makes them different from another human being? Do you even stop to fathom, that if you could bred humans standing shoulder to shoulder and filled up the universe with humans, front to back, foot to head, shoulder to shoulder, that EACH human being would be DIFFERENT, have their unique identity, different voice, different characteristics of eyes. That means that if the universe never ends, that humanity would never end and always be different. That speaks of eternal understanding, it is unfathomable.

Care to tell me what evolved first the chicken or the egg?

What is backed up to you?

Do you care that the when the dead sea scrolls were found they matched the written word of the old testament today perfectly.

What does it mean? That for 2,000 years copies of the bible were written by hand, and match, perfectly the ones hidden in a cave.

Sounds to me like it is a pretty important book. The bible has been translated into 3000 different languages and they (secular humanists) have attempted to burn it out of existence, to no avail.

http://www.jesusplusnothing.com/prophecy.htm

Prophecies fulfilled from old testament to new.

I have 11 eye witnesses and some women that say Jesus die on a cross and get resurrected. There are Christian martyrs, that are willing to die for their faith.

I have an earth 75% full of water that suggests of a Noahic flood in past times. Fossils on the peak of Mt. Everest and Pikes peak, and dead giant dinosaurs suggesting of a past calamity that wiped them out.

You have speculation of meteorite impacts and theories. As to why the dinosaurs no longer exist.

You're really going to have to read some of the responses to your posts, you know. This is getting tedious. Your outright lies are sad. Just because it makes you feel good to be without knowledge and say, "God did it!" vice learning anything, doesn't mean we all have to. I'm sure you're OK with science and knowledge until it makes you uncomfortable in your fantasy. Again, do you have a problem with the theory of gravity? It is much less supported than the theory of evolution yet I don't see you complaining about it.

Patriarch Verlch,

Discussions about evolution and any physical evidence of the biblical story of the great flood belong in the Evolution/Creation Forum. If you are at all interested in becoming better informed, I encourage you to take your misconceptions there but they are inappropriate in this forum.

Thanks in advance and welcome to IIDB,

There is ample evidence that Christians are persecuted in the world today. But I'm sure you would ignore that, what is to speculate that we were persecuted for our beliefs then?

This statement was not offered as speculative:

2000 years leads to different conditions? Nor does general persecution equate to the deaths of specific individuals.
