That logically doesn't make sense because the promise was that the city would be SPARED because of the righteous fifty, not executed because of the fifty.

The text only says "suspended" which naturally fits the idea of being forgiven. But I am suggesting that early Christians would have seen the targum and applied telee to the concept of crucifixion. What else explains the mystical idea of crucifixion "forgiving" sins? A crucifixion doesn't resemble a sacrificial offering. It's a forced analogy
