I am not sure where specifically one would expect Philo to mention Jesus.

Andrew Criddle

Well, did you expect Philo to mention Pontius Pilate?

Did you expect Philo to mention the MADMAN Carabbas?

Did you expect Philo to mention anything at all?

Did you expect Philo to go on the "embassy to Gaius" to argue against the WORSHIP of Men as Gods and the placing of effigies of Deified Emperors in Jewish places of worship?

Did you EXPECT Philo NOT to mention that the MOST expected Jew, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, was to be WORSHIPED as a God and NOT Gaius?

It MUST be expected that Philo would have mentioned that there were JEWS who worshiped a Man as a God or that the DEIFIED Gaius would have REMINDED Philo that Jews were presently worshiping a JEWISH Man as a God.

In Philo's "On EMbassy to Gaius" the DEIFIED Emperor Gaius claimed in a letter that he was Worshiped as a God by ALL Nations EXCEPT the Jews which IMPLIES that Jews did NOT worship men as Gods.

Philo was supposed to be a contemporary of "Paul" the Pharisee whom the Church claimed went ALL over the Roman Empire telling people to worship Jesus Christ as a God and that Jesus Christ was the END of the LAW.

The Pauline Jesus, God Incarnate, had a NAME ABOVE every name, even ABOVE the DEIFIED Gaius, and was supposedly PREACHED ALL over the Roman Empire by a Pharisee during the time of Philo.

Philippians
Quote:
....9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father....
In the time of Philo, based on the Pauline writings, Jesus Christ was to be WORSHIPED as a God by the DEIFIED Gaius.

I would expect Philo or even the Deified Gaius to mention the DEIFIED JEW called Jesus Christ who was the END of the LAW.

ROMANS 10:4 -
Quote:
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
The Pauline Jesus was claimed to be the END of the LAW all over the Roman Empire by a PHARISEE called "Paul" and Philo UNEXPECTEDLY wrote about the MADMAN Carabbas.

I did NOT expect Philo to write about Mad Men and NOT the LORD, SAVIOR and Messiah of the Jews who was in "the Form of God."

A Jewish Messiah was the SINGLE-MOST EXPECTED Jewish character.

The Matthean and Markan Jesus Christ was UNKNOWN based on the writings of Philo.

Those are not reliable historical sources.
Why not? They were around at the appropriate time and had the opportunity to check the information. Both better time-wise than any other historical source. You seem to be killing the grass as well as the weeds. You don't deal with an argument from silence by shooting people who didn't see Jesus.
I find J-D to be a nuisance and that his arguments are highly illogical.

We all know, except perhaps J-D, that gMatthew and gMark is in AGREEMENT with History when they claimed that there were PHARISEES and SADUCEES during the time of Pontius Pilate, governor or procurator of Judea.

In the writings of Josephus, it is claimed that there were PHARISEES and SADUCEES during and BEFORE the 1st century.

In the writings of Josephus it is claimed that a burning bush spoke to Moses.

Matt 27:2 -
Quote:
And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
Mark 15:1 -
Quote:
And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
Philo's "On Embassy to Gaius" XXXVIII
Quote:
.....Pilate was one of the emperor's lieutenants, having been appointed governor of Judaea. He, not more with the object of doing honour to Tiberius than with that of vexing the multitude, dedicated some gilt shields in the palace of Herod, in the holy city...
gMatthew and gMark AGREE with History. There was a character called Pontius Pilate governor of Judea and that Jesus Christ was UNKNOWN.

You still have not presented reliable historical sources for that.

MYTH FABLES are NOT historically reliable, but Myth Fables may contain names of actual geographic locations and names of actual figures of history.

Now, I did NOT claim that the MYTH Fables called gMatthew and gMark were reliable sources.

Only that in the Myth Fables of gMatthew and gMark certain statements AGREE with History.

1. Jesus Christ was UNKNOWN.

2. Pontius Pilate was KNOWN as governor.

It is KNOWN, except perhaps by J-D, that historically UNRELIABLE sources may contain some event, some character and some geographic locations that are EXTERNALLY corroborated.

You don't have any historically reliable sources of corroboration.
