I didn't go to Afghanistan or Bosnia to die. I went there to kill. The possibility of my death wasn't anything new, as it is an inevitability.

It seems more likely that I would participate in an activity where it was for the greater good and there was a possibility of me dying (as in going to war), than in an activity where my death was inevitable. As an athiest, it is hard to decide to end one's life as this is the only life we have. Granted, there are a great many cicumstances that I would be willing to give up my life; however, just because it is for the greater good doesnt mean that i would

You think this is about religion and fanatics? Think again. It is about greed and oil and profits lining the pockets of the rich in this country. I am not thanking anybody for contributing to the gratuitious international violence of my own country...I am not thanking anybody for creating collateral damage or being the same. This is the way people who think they are above the world talk. I am down here on this planet and I do not find anything honorable about killing folks in Afghanistan or Bosnia.

Like the poor chap who was sent by King David to the war front so that David could take his wife and as a result of that union we have King Soloman and according to the new testament; Jesus.

Or the sons and daughters and cattle and sheep of Job who was killed so that Job can be proven to be faithful and a Bible story of Job could be written.

And in the NT

It was not because his father sinned or he sinned but it was so that God may be glorified.

Thanks
Well, frankly, I raher be YOU the one killed, cause it is clear to me that it would be for the gratest good...I mean, without a doubt...

King David, Solomon, and Jesus are all fictitious characters. You may just as well ask if someone were willing to be sacrificed to save Captain Kangaroo.

Considering the amount of harm Christianity has done to the world, I would have willlingly sacrificed myself to stop it from being

Doesn't this presuppose a belief in the "Greater Good?"
