Default Which ten commandments?

Help

I am composing a letter to the editor in rebuttal to a local fundy who wants to put the ten commandments on the school room walls. I know that there are 3 different versions of the decalogue and I have seen them examined here, but now that I need them I can't find them. I don't have time to read the whole bible tonight . Any help out there?

Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5, and Exodus 34. Although some apologists claim that Exodus 34 isn't intended to be an alternate Decalogue, the irony is that it is in fact the only version of the three even called the ten commandments (v:28). You could mention in your letter that Exodus 34:1 says that Yahweh was to write the commandments, yet verse 28 says that Moses wrote them.

Quote:
Exodus 34:1,27-28 (NRSV)
34:1 Yahweh said to Moses, "Cut two tablets of stone like the former ones, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets, which you broke.

27 Yahweh said to Moses: Write these words; in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel. 28 He was there with Yahweh forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Four (or six, depending how you count): the Samaritan Torah has a different set as well.
