Perhaps, though again, even if this is the case, you are basically saying that they were Romans anyway, regardless of their ethnicity.

I still believe, due to the the outright anti-semitism displayed and the amount of misunderstanding of the LXX shown in the Christian literature, that we are not dealing with actual Jews. Maybe wannabes...

Maybe because the people that wrote about Jesus thought he was real (even though he wasn't) and didn't think these other gods were real.

Or maybe there were texts that discuss Jesus meeting with said gods and they all got destroyed later because the people in charge of the christian religion at the time did not want future generations to see them.

One such text survives in the OT, Psalm 82, wherein Yahweh judges all of the other gods of the Canaanite pantheon. Yahweh's judgment, couched in the language of prophecy, is that all of these other gods are to die. So Psalm 82 is essentially a "war of gods" text wherein Yahweh commits deicide, an act he repeats in the NT.

So the biblical precedent is there. It is therefore reasonable to assume that there were those who followed suit, so to speak, in the NT era, authors who wrote tales of the Christian god interacting with gods of another pantheon (Marvel vs. DC).
