Maybe it isn't a bad idea. I don't think I could do justice for a full book review, since I don't have the language skills nor knowledge on some areas that Doherty touches on, but I'm slowly working through all the resources he refers to for his 'sub-lunar' ideas for a new article I'm writing. So something specific on the Middle-Platonism aspect may be possible. Once the article is completed, I'll pop it here for review - after that, who knows?

If I may, I think that, given what you are doing, you will find useful a message I posted to Ted/Jacob on the Biblical Studies List in referece to the claim that one finds explicit documentation of the sub-lunar idea in Plutarch.
