It was a poor job cribbing together unrelated garbage here and there along with ignoring some of the most vital elements of the Jewish Messiah - but we're dealing with a religion that was for the most part not marketed to pious Jews. So who cares.

A modern parallel would be the the Nation of Islam, which bore no resemblance to Islam and is not properly viewed as a branching off from Islam. It was a white con man marketing it to poor, uneducated blacks.

based off Jesus being the messaih predicted in jewish scripture?
He clearly isn't, and that is one of the lessons to learn - how people can be brainwashed into accepting a premise that is utterly false.

Malcom X went to Mecca, interacted with bona-fide members of the faith, and broke with Elijah Mohammed when he saw what a fraud he was.

So Elijah Mohammed did the Christian thing - had him assassinated.

So again, why the need for the new faith?
This question again buys into church propaganda, and when you strip away the piffle about the "new covenant" then you are left with a God that is pretty stupid and arbitrary.

How they managed to fabricate this history and consolidate power over different "Christ" cults is a fascinating pursuit.

Welcome and enjoy...
