For those who aren't familiar with the "Institute for Biblical Research", this is what you have to belive to be a member:

Quote:

1. The unique divine inspiration, integrity and authority of the Bible.
2. The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
3. The necessity and efficacy of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the redemption of the world.
4. The historical fact of his bodily resurrection.
5. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration and for the understanding of the Scriptures.
6. The expectation of the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
.
.

Hallucinating!!.. How one can to approach, with utility and authority, the historical research, having the mind occupied by such absurd nonsense and hilarious amenities? ... Is it by these people that we should expect the final word on the researches on the origins of Christianity? ... Frankly I have very heavy doubts concerning it ....

What you do not understand is that the past tense future of the beggining of the recorded information to tie in the start of the era of compliance can no longer support the assertion(TEST) that each and Evryone of us in bound by the code in which we all are created to live by.

But the actual truth can only be known by stringing the two objective compromised individuals into a particualr set of goals that combined can only generate all that we begin with.

Would you agree LittleJohn? Thank you for agreeing...you are right.

It's a reference to a genre of American jokes that start "A (Catholic) priest, a (Protestant) minister, and a Rabbi...". They probably don't exist in Italy since there has never been a meaningful Italian Protestant population and what happened to the Jewish Italians is too terrible to discuss in a joke post.

A typical joke continues "... were arguing about how much money to give to charity. The priest says, 'we'll draw a great big circle on the ground, throw a whole lot of money up in the air and whatever lands inside the circle we give to charity.' The minister says, 'No, whatever lands outside the circle, we give to charity.' The rabbi says, 'Whatever God catches, he keeps!'"

Being a Mythicist with no particular commitment, I'll point out that it is exceedingly unlikely that Heinrich Schliemann is going to excavate the empty tomb or Yusef & Sons Discount Carpentry in Nazareth.

The 'joke' is funny.

"...that Heinrich Schliemann is going to excavate the empty tomb..."

I did not 'hooked' well what do you mean ... Do you want say that Schliemann already knew where to go to 'dig'? ... As far as I know, he had to make numerous attempts, especially where all the archaeologists of 'cry' had given up ...

"..or Yusef & Sons Discount Carpentry in Nazareth..."

Again I do not understand what you mean ...

The probability of finding archaeological verification of the existence of a historical Jesus is effectively zero, and while it's conceivable that new documentary or inscription evidence might surface corroborating the existence of a historical Jesus, (I don't think anybody but Hershel Shanks who knows anything still seriously believes Oded Golan didn't forge the James Ossuary inscription), don't count on it.

So yeah, there was a movement that felt Homer had no historical foundation at all and Schliemann's excavations kicked sand in its eyes... But nobody reads the battle narratives of the Illiad and tries to plot out the tactical maneuvers around Hissarlik, or is searching the Straits of Messina for the skeletons of Scylla and Charybdis. By the same token, Earl Doherty isn't going to go systematically wandering around every ancient village in Syria, Lebanon and Palestine with a parchment detector and eventually pull out a signed confession from the author of the Gospel of Mark admitting he made the Gospel Jesus up.

So there isn't going to be a "Silver Bullet" proving historicity/mythicicity unless someone gets in a time machine. The analogy of Troy:Schliemann::Historical Jesus:Some guy who proves a Historical Jesus doesn't work.

Yeah ... that's what my grandfather always said to my grandmother, when he understood that it was not possible to agree, when among them was a lack of agreement about the fact that it was not possible to agree by mutual agreement ...

(Luckily my little grandson, who often plays near to me, do not understand English, otherwise he would make me a head 'so much' of 'why'!)

Totally agree.......the begining all started at the forefront of talks with the conservative group who still rely on information from sources not associated with the common acceptance of the status quo. Unlike us who understand that you can't start from the front and expect to be left in the middle in the end.
