If you are looking to the antecedents of gospel phraseology, you are really looking in the wrong location. Most of biblical wisdom, including most of Jesus' 'Sermon on the Mount', came from ancient Egyptian sages.


And of course in Egypt, every pharaoh was the Son of one God or another. Tuthmoses, Ramoses, Ahmoses - the names all mean 'Son of God'. And Jesus was following in this tradition, because he was related to this royal line. That is why my first book was called 'Jesus, Last of the Pharaohs'.

It is called British Analytic Criticism and that is a field of knowledge all on its own wherein words are critcally analyzed.

Surely you know that much of the Sermon on the Mount (and Lord's Prayer) comes from the Maxims of Ani. I thought that was common knowledge.

And that Psalm 104 (and the Genesis story) is from the Hymn to the Aton. And Proverbs 22 is from the Instructions of Amenemopet. Oh, and there are large 'quotes' on the Tempest Stele, about the plagues and the materials given to build the Tabernacle and the Ark.


As I said before, the origins of Judaism, and therefore the origins of Christianity, are all to be found in Egypt. And this is hardly surprising, considering that this is where the Israelites came from, and where Jesus went for his education. (The Talmud maintains that Jesus came back from Egypt with sacred knowledge marked on his skin - presumably referring to tattoos.)

I don't think you should assume that it is common knowledge. A source would be helpful.

If I google the sermon on the mount and "maxims of ani", I get many hits to books and comments that you have written, plus a hit on a website named for mystic seer Edgar Cayse that lists a few common themes.

I can't find a demonstration that the parallels are so close that you can be sure of the relationship. Most academics seem to dismiss these claims as "fringe nonsense", although that opinion is not proof.

But this is not common knowledge.

Your not making a case at all for anything in your reply.


I can tell you that Israelites factually evolved from displaces Canaanites.

I can tell you they have more Mesopotamian influence then Egyptian.




Those that follow the Mesopotamian "books of the dead", im sure you will claim Egyptian origins. Some may very well be.


Where I think your making the majority of your mistakes is reading into it, way to much. Your forcing Egyptian square pegs, into Isrealite round holes they dug and evolved theirselves. No one doubts the Egyptian influence, but a Egyptian foundation is not historically accurate beyond fantasy.


The "Sermon on the Mount" may have different Hellenistic influences from previous authors, but its foundation is not Egyptian. Many of the parables are original. Since the interpretation is still wide open for much of "Ani" you have no real connection outside "influence"


Mesopotamian and Egyptian's influenced many of the later generations.

The sanctuary of god, its abomination is much speaking. Make you your prayers with a heart of love, all the petitions of which are in secret. He will perform your affairs, he will hear what you say …


This is from the Gospel of Matthew. - about 6:6
“(Jesus said) but when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking … your Father knows what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”
