Default "Christians" Slaughtered the Heretics.

In "Against the Galileans" attributed to the Emperor Julian it is claimed "Christians" slaughtered Jews and Heretics because they did NOT worship their Jesus.

"Against the Galileans"
Quote:
....you emulate the rages and the bitterness of the Jews, overturning temples and altars,63 and you slaughtered not only those of us who remained true to the teachings of their fathers, but also men who were as much astray as yourselves, heretics,64 because they did not wail over the corpse 65 in the same fashion as yourselves...
Amazingly, by the 4th century, "Christians" were out of control, they were destroying the Temples and Altars of competing religions and exterminating their opponents.

It would appear that the words of the INTERPOLATOR of gMark were fulfilled.

Mark 16:16 -
Quote:
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Indeed, the citation from Mark 16:16 doesn't sound like the loving Jesus that people are always talking about at all, does it?!

So these works were in progress with interpolations of marginal glosses and marginal interpretations added along the way. That's why some speak of "Proto-Mark" as the first storyline in poor quality Greek that was the so-called allegory of the Paulist mystery sect.

It says nothing that is not already in the Bible proper. It is quite possibly a pagan attempt to get people to be baptised in water.

Since "belief" is subjective, how could the Church determine who is damned and who isn't? It doesn't say that whoever doesn't get baptized is damned. It just says that whoever is baptized AND believed is saved. What about a person who is baptized but subjectively doesn't believe, or someone who believes but hasn't been baptized?
Of course one would ask the author of Mark what kind of baptism is required, since the followers of John got baptized but not necessarily the followers of Jesus.

Where do you get your stories from? Please show the source for your claims about "Proto-Mark" and "Paulist mystery sect". I have ZERO interest in Chinese Whispers and rumors.

I consistently show your my sources but you are always introducing assertion that are completely unsubstantiated.

There is ZERO evidence from any non-apologetic sources that Paul and Jesus did exist.

It is just total fiction that Paul could have ALSO been commissioned by those very fictitious disciples who could NOT have been commissioned by a dead Jew.

Examine Galatians 2.7-8
Quote:
....7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles)...
Galatians was WRITTEN AFTER gMatthew, composed after the Fall of the Temple and after gMark.

In gMark, Jesus did NOT commit any Church to Peter at all. None.

Matthew 16:18 -
Quote:
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it...
There was NO such thing as a "Paulist mystery cult". The evidence suggests that Paul was an INVENTED 1st century character with the sole purpose to DECEIVE.

The church (small 'c') does not determine that. The church determines those whose actions justify their words that declare faith, in order to permit or disallow membership.

Such a person is subject to condemnation.

That depends on the meaning of 'baptism' used. If water baptism is referred to, the believer is saved by virtue of faith. If spiritual baptism is the usage, that accompanies faith anyway.

I didn't see any accusation of slaughtering Jews. It accuses them of acting like Jews, slaughtering pagans, and heretics. What "slaughter" this is supposed to refer to we are not told. Considering that Julian was running a persecution at the time, and was about to turn the whole city of Antioch over to a brutal thug to "punish" them for being Christians, we might wonder just how sincere any of this is.

All the best,

Roger Pearse

You don't understand what "slaughter" means? Just get a dictionary. "Slaughter" means "to KILL".

And, how is it that you have immediately began to accuse Julian of persecution yet fail to admit that Christians were SLAUGHTERING those who followed the teachings of the Jews and those who were called Heretics?

Roger, I’ve been considering another statement alleged to have been made by Julian for some time and perhaps you can provide some insight. In the following quote,

Quote:
It is, I think, expedient to set forth to all mankind the reasons by which I was convinced that the fabrication of the Galilaeans is a fiction of men composed by wickedness. Though it has in it nothing divine, by making full use of that part of the soul which loves fable and is childish and foolish, it has induced men to believe that the monstrous tale is truth.

Is Julian arguing that Galilaeans created a particular work of fiction or that the the Galilaens themselves were fictitious?

Please, Look at the last sentence. You will see the word "IT". The word "IT" refers to the Jesus story.

The Jesus story--IT is a MONSTROUS TALE. The Jesus story--IT is NOT TRUE.
