Here are 3 examples of what early Christians thought of people who insulted, and/or killed their Prophet

Which is the odd one out?

Hebrews 10
How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Paul writes in Romans 13
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

And 1 Peter 2 says '
Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

FWIW Hebrews 10 is not denouncing people who are supposedly responsible for the death of Jesus.

The passage is about apostates from Christianity.

Yes, you can kill Jesus and be regarded as appointed by God, sent by him to punish those who do wrong, but if you leave Christianity , you will fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 10 is about the "much worse punishment for the saved sinner who clings to the law and so tramples the Son of God underfoot by the insult to the spirit of Grace (elsewhere called the sin against the HS) . . . and that is why it is "a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
