I'm calling out what you're doing. You have absolutely no source for saying that Pilate was "regarded somewhat well among the Jews". That is simply a fancy way of saying you're making things up.

Where is your source for saying that Pilate was regarded as somewhat well among the Jews?

After the fact? Philo was a contemporary of Pilate.

Again, where is your source that says that Pilate was regarded fairly well among the Jews?

Maybe you should provide your source for your assertion that Pilate was regarded fairly well among the Jews in the 1st century.

Maybe you should get bent.
I'd be glad to. As soon as you provide some Jewish writings that said that Pilate was regarded fairly well among Jews in the 1st century.

The only two people who we know had knowledge of Pilate were both Jews and they didn't regard him as having any repute.
Oh dear its the king of spelling, lord master of English the high king of my nation and its speech. Welcome sire.

I never said what he said so you are attacking a straw man anyway. Maybe I should of made my point clearer, so that it didn't cause offence but the next person to even imply I am lying as both of you have done I am going to report. Because I am not lying when I say that the people commenting on the time were most likely extremely biased in their accounts. And I seriously doubt that he was the brutal despot he was made out to be any more than Herod or the younger Herod were according to less biased sources. I am allowed to express an opinion, without being called a liar am I not?
Nobody called you a liar and you have no justification for thinking so in this case. You can express whatever opinion your heart desires, but do so here and you are liable to have it commented on.

Given that you are aware of what the available sources are, you know that your doubts are not based on anything directly from the period we are analyzing. Do you think that Josephus misrepresents Pilate? If so, why? If not, he seems to be a "brutal despot", but then again most people in power at the time were.

Where is your evidence?

So now I'm trolling because I'm asking for evidence? I wish that sort of flippant response would fly well at a thesis defense.
