No Argument here, though I never read TDC, I HAVE read a bit of his earlier stuff, got alot of laughs out of the ridiculous situations and plot devices, but it got old.

I was just bothered by the idea of losing respect for a novellist for the specific reason of doing what novellists do.

A work of fiction that is supposed to be spiced up? come on....

Now, I just got finished listening to an audio book called "The Templar Legacy" a book on a sort of similar vein, and the autor had an epilogue where he did is best to point out what was true and what was made up at the end. IF Dan Brown did the same, and IF you find the "Jesus may have written Q", listed under "fact" then you can lose all respect ok?

Once again, it's one thing to nitpic the "facts" in the story, another to lose all respect for a novellist...because he wrote a novel that had errors of fact. ETA: iow he wrote a novel that contained *gasp* fiction.
I understand your point, but I also understand that Brown has claimed that his book is essentially fact told through fiction. The sheer number of errors and falsehoods in his book either points to the fact that Brown was lying when he made that claim, or he is deluded.

Thanks, Llyricist. I asked why all the fuss (amounting to some half-dozen books refuting this work of fiction) under the Skepticism rubric. Apparently, it's because a lot of gullible readers actually did take it as fact, despite its obvious absurdities (Mary Magdalene in "The Last Supper", for example).

I used to wonder if a man is created in the image of god, did this god had a peepee? If so what he will use it for?

I actually find that one of the more believable and charming theories in the book. It speaks to Leonardo's belief system, not to Biblical historcial accuracy.

I've collected a few choice pics here. If anyone has more to suggest I'd appreciate it. I'd like to find some with Jesus holding the "celestial sphere" or with the zodiac.
Rather silly really.

Does anyone actually believe the Book or movie? Like the Gospel of Judas or Thomas, Christian reagrd this as hersey but some may count this toward the existence of the Historical Jesus.

Oh well, millions and millions are discussing the Bible and Jesus!

It seems the only people who are taking it at such fact value to muster a full fledge front against it are Christians. Everyone else seems to be taking it all in and scratching their heads.

It seems the battle for scripture still hasn't stopped since the early centuries.
