Christians have always persecuted Christians. According to the Christian Bible, the believers in Yahweh persecuted the followers of Yahweh's Son. I understand some Christians burnt other Christians at the stake, too. Religious wars can be extremely brutal, it would not surprise me if they attack each other with lions.

So does the Christians rule the world today as you dread, or does a far more sinister oligarchy rule the world?

Which would you fellas rather serve?

The period when Christians DID rule Europe is known as "the Dark Ages".

On the whole, I'd rather not be ruled by those who have a track record of setting fire to people like me.

Not particularly, no. However, I nevertheless appear to care more about such issues than you do, because I happen to know that this claim is false.

Thanks to those who responded directly to the question.

For myself, I remain surprised that something I knew for a fact a couple of days ago is apparently substantially untrue. And pleased that now I will have an excuse/reason to pick up a few books on early Christian history to see what else is to be found.

I really don't like being lied to, especially by an organization that above almost all else asks to be trusted and largely is.

Christians have pretty much all the political power in the US. They are 80% of the populace and they control all three branches of government. I don't know how much more dominant they could get, yet many of them still persist in perpetuating a meme that they are a persecuted minority.

This is a false choice. There is no "sinister oligarchy" (unless you count the Bush White House).

I've come to the conclusion that because Christians think your theory is false, that you think the whole bible is false.

Now, my friend, is there 95% truth in the bible?

The one-side battles continue:
Lion Kills Man After He Jumps Into Cage And Declares “God Will Save Me, If He Exists”...

According to Yahoo News:
Lioness in zoo kills man who invoked God

Mon Jun 5, 8:31 AM ET

A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.

"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."

The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.

The thing I could never figure out is why do the "Jazz" play in Utah and the "Saints" play in New Orleans? Seems like it should be the other way around.
