Perhaps Zoroastrianism would still be the main religion today. But a religion we would have had for sure because man has a superstition gene built in to his psych. Witness the new age religions built around the UFOs cults. Man is afraid of been alone in this vast universe he finds himself in.

Even "Paul" claimed that he was NOT the first to preach the FAITH.

"PAUL" was the LAST to see the RESURRECTED Jesus.

Listen to "PAUL".

Galatians 1
Quote:
.15But when God, who had set me apart {even} from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased 16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood[, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to Damascus.

18 Then three years later I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days..

......20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; 22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
In order to PERSECUTE the FAITH one MUST KNOW in advance and be ABLE to IDENTIFY the FAITH to be PERSECUTED.

Galatians 1.13 -
Quote:
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it..
"Paul" had ALREADY KNOWN, INDENTIFIED, and PERSECUTED the FAITH beyond measure BEFORE he was supposedly CALLED by God to preach the very FAITH.

There is NO source of Antiquity that place "PAUL" at the start of the Jesus cult and BEFORE the supposed Apostles.

Listen to "PAUL".

1 Cor. 15.8
Quote:
.....And LAST OF ALL HE WAS SEEN OF ME ALSO....
"Paul" was Last in the NT story.

in this video ,richard carrier says that the jewish judges were astonished by peters claim that the jews killed jesus and dismissed it as the illiterate ramblings of an illiterate commoner.

the jews say
"you even want to lay this mans blood on us"

if the crucifixion was an event of public note and exposure, how is it possible that the jewish religious leaders forgot about the jews crying out "crucify him" and " his blood be upon us and our children" ?

Those words were written by someone who was trying to shift the blame from the Romans. Obviously this was aimed at the gentiles, not the Jews who rejected this tale of a messiah, so as to make these evangelist seek converts outside of the Jewish religion.
Had this tale of a crucifixion and resurrection actually occurred as written in the babble, it would have been like the greatest earthquake to have ever happened in the history of this planet. The story would have circled the earth until every human in every part of the earth would have heard about it. Instead of around two billion christians existing, the whole over 6 billion people who populate this earth would today be christian.

...or, the crucifixion is not historical at all. There is good theological reason to have the Jews crucify the messiah. It permits Christians to claim that since the Jews rejected the messiah, they are no longer God's chosen people.

And that is exactly what the Jesus story is about.

Jesus, sent by God, was rejected by the Jews and God caused the destruction of his OWN Temple.

Mr 9:31 -
Quote:
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day....
The Jesus story appears to be an explanation for the Fall of the Temple of the Jewish God.

It is MOST remarkable that in the Gospel stories Jesus did NOT say a single NEGATIVE word about the Emperors of Rome who were regarded as Gods or Pilate who wanted to ABOLISH the Laws of the God of the Jews, the very supposed FATHER of Jesus.

Antiquities of the Jews 18.3.1
Quote:
1. BUT now Pilate, the procurator of Judea, removed the army from Cesarea to Jerusalem, to take their winter quarters there, in order to abolish the Jewish laws........
In the Synoptics, it must be NOTED that Jesus was SENT by God to the JEWS specifically to WARN them that either they ACCEPT the Son of God as the Messiah or be DESTROYED.

And the ONLY so-called prophecy that was fulfilled in the NT was the Fall of the Temple and the destruction of Jerusalem.

It would appear that it was the FALL of the Temple and the destruction of Jerusalem c 70 CE that was the impetus for the Jesus story and NOT the crucifixion of an UNKNOWN man who was one of the thousands of crucified Jews and whose crucifixion would have had NO ability to save mankind from sin.

Another clue to this is Jesus equating himself with the Temple by saying, "destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up". Belief in Jesus was to replace the no-longer-existing Temple, city and religious freedom. Relative to pre-AD 70, the Jews were no longer powerful. But the risen Jesus was all-powerful and he was created to replace what had been lost in the Jewish wars.

In the Synoptics, after the Fall of the Temple and the destruction of the Jerusalem, then will the END come or the day of Judgment shortly after the sun and moon shall be darkened and the Son of Man will come in the clouds of heaven.

Matthew24
Quote:
... 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
This is Joel on the sun and moon.

Joe 2:31 -
Quote:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

This is the so-called prophet Daniel writing about the ONE like the Son of Man.

Daniel 7
Quote:
.... 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him:

his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Now this is the Revelation of "John" AFTER the Temple had fallen and Jerusalem destroyed.

Revelation 21:1-8 -
Quote:
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, NEW JERUSALEM, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, [u]Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.......
The REJECTION and Crucifixion of Jesus, the Son of the God of the Jews, caused the very God of the Jews to destroy the Temple and Jerusalem and this destruction supposedly SIGNIFIED that the Kingdom of heaven was a hand.

It was believed that there would be a new heaven, a new earth and a NEW JERUSALEM after the Fall of the TEMPLE.

It was NOT the crucifixion of a mere unknown Jewish man that triggered the Jesus story it was the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem which appeared to fulfill so-called prophecies found in Hebrew Scripture like Daniel, Isaiah, and Joel.
