Default looking for stats/studies on religious belief

I'm looking to find any recent international surveys/studies that have been done on the degree and intensity of religious belief in countries other than the U.S., particularly Europe. I've been seeing several articles over the years hinting at the decline of religious belief in Europe and speculation that it is entering a "post-Christian" age, but I'd like to look over any definitive studies that have been published.

Within the U.S., I do have the 2001 Religious Identification Survey which was very interesting. However, I was also curious whether there have been any other studies done that really explored Americans' belief systems (and may have pointed out how much cognitive dissonance may be going on out there). For example, I recall seeing some stat ages ago that some 70-80% of people believed the Bible to be the Word of God, yet only a quarter of them could name the four Gospels. I'm looking for stuff like that--how many people praise God and the Bible, yet are woefully ignorant of their own religion or hold clearly contradictory opinions within their own belief system.

Can anybody out there point me in the right direction to find some published studies along these lines?

George Barna has been doing detailed studies of U.S. Christians for years.

As for the rest of the world, there is always plenty of info at Adherents.com, and the U.K. census site has some info for that country.

There's some good stuff here:Pew Attitudes Research Project

Also, what about a survey that asks who reports being strongly religious in the US, and breaks the data down by state? Does anyone know of such a survey?
