He doesn't see this consilience. When Dave actually looks at the data, he only sees one piece of that data at a time. And if that piece does not fit into his biblical literalism, he knows it is wrong -- even if he, himself, cannot explain why it is wrong, he is sure someone else in authority can (AIG, RATE, etc.).

It will be interesting to see if Dave gets exactly one vote this time around, too.

And funnily enough he has one vote tallied. Do I see a pattern here?

Heavens! Are you suggesting that the same SINGLE vote FOR Dave could possibly be from the same person who gave a SINGLE vote FOR Dave at Dawkins'? Oh, MY. I'm shocked... SHOCKED to hear of such possibilities.

So who voted for the tie? Don't tell me we have someone here who votes when drunk as we do at RDF?

Oh look - now we have a vote for a tie, just like at RD.

Let me repeat a question I asked earlier on this thread. There is obviously a long tradition of debates at IIDB. I assume many if not most have had polls. Is it unusual to have such a lopsided outcome, or is that a common occurrence?

I actually don't remember any debate polls. It's not customary here.

A vote for a tie? I wonder if biblethumper was lurking at RDF under a different handle? He seemed to be a fan of Dave but honest enough to admit Dave's arguments weren't entirely conclusive.*
The vote for a win is most likely Dave. No prizes for clairvoyance there.

*yes, that's understatement.
