While it isn't a perfect match the Nag Hammadi treatise the Hypostasis of the Archons has 'God' = the Good God:

I will quite seriously. Please read my other post about Adamantius. It takes the argument one step further.

So it seems.
The internal evidence of the Gospel of John indicates that has gone through several revisions, including a layer Marcionite. John 14:16 says, "another Paraclete" will come. The best solution is for Paul. The proto-orthodox weaseled it means the Holy Spirit. John 7:7 reads that the world hates Jesus because he is not of the world, and he testifies that its works are evil.
"God the Father" is the terminology for the most Gnostic god who dwells in Plemora, and he was the one who sent Jesus. The term "God the Father" is very common in the New Testament, especially the letters of Paul and the Gospel of John, both of Marcionite foundations. (We need to read as a sign of dualism, God the Father, against his Creator). However we should proceed only with caution to the hypothetical uber-gospel from which all other gospels are participated by particular selection.

You poor guy you, this translation stinks with literalism which is the stuff reformers are made from and I do not care how many PhD's you have in ancient languages. What you present here is a slanted translation by a wannebe who doesn't have a clue.

He expelled 'the' man is good to identify his human condition as an attribute but he did not 'drive him' out like an animal. There is no physical movement here but the settle[ment] East of Eden is to make his comfort zone known wherein West is the end of his world that must be found to get back in . . . simply because you cannot go East from East of Eden.

And the flaming sword is not a windshield wiper kind of sword but a fiery revolving sword that is needed to get back into Eden and for this the cherub is needed to define the revolutions to be made . . . lest he sets the world on fire like a reformer on his own, preaching the good news to others instead of to himself.

This makes Jesus the second Adam now as the fiery revolving sword with 'the' woman to be his guide as the wherewithal of him, and hence his dowry in betrothal so they may be 'one' again.

Significant here is that you make it sound like the Gate is East of Eden and that is also just opposite, to say that righteousness will never get you or anyone back in.

What you present here is the stuff Hitler's are made from, and don't you see?

And I do not mean this to be personal, but the literal interpretation is my target to explode.
