Default Would Christ Want This?

I would like you to help me get the word out to boycott the photographer <removed>. He photographs models, and recently posted some pictures on his web site, in which one of his models is portrayed as Christ. In and of itself, it's not so bad, but he has depicted our Lord as a male stripper, hanged on a cross, with a nun putting dollar bills in the band of his underwear. If that wasn't bad enough, the model (Christ) has an erection in which an anonymous hand is reaching to touch. It's disgusting, blasphemous, and pornographic. This type of 'art' has no place in our society, not only corrupting the weak, but influencing the minds of our children. If you want to see the atrocity before warning other Christians, go to <advert removed>

Your Sister in Christ, Betty Stevens

I have removed what is probably an advertising site; however, this thread seems to me to have some scope for valid discussion so I will leave it open for now

Default Are you related to ...

I am not sure how much support you will receive for your campaign at this site. Just a quick question though:

Are you related to "America's Best Christian", Betty Bowers? Betty Bowers

Heh, this forum IS called internet infidels you know . Though I agree that that type of art is in poor taste. Still, freedom of expression and all that.

You know, one of the things I hate the most about Christianity is the way that Christians try to censor art that makes fun of it. I mean, really, why is it so awful if someone references the crucifixion?

Well to be fair, the type of art described isn't just 'referencing' the crucifixion .. it is being deliberately offensive to Chrisitanity, i think. However, we live in a world with freedom of speech so, whether you agree with it or not, people DO have the right to do that. I guess we just gotta learn to ignore things that we don't like and can't change.

*** (GRD) mod hat on ***

This is probably spam, but I figured there was a remote possibility of productive discussion, so here we are in ~E~. Sorry for the delayed explanation.
