Why was Pilate scared that people might inform Caesar that Pilate had let an obscure preacher carry on preaching in obscurity?

IF Pilate was a protege of Sejanus and IF this occurs after the spectacular fall of Sejanus in 31 CE then Pilate may well have been vulnerable to an allegation of condoning sedition brought to the ears of an increasingly paranoid Tiberius.

Why would he let Barrabas go then?

What was seditious about Jesus? Herod didn't seem to think Jesus was a ursuper of his power?

And why would people in Acts have such a laissez-faire attitude to followers of Jesus, when John makes it clear that people were worried that Rome might attack if people started following Jesus?

Jesus never claimed to be king. Not to his disciples. Not to Pilate.

Moreover, there WERE kings such as Herod, his sons (over the techrarchs) and then Herod Agrippa during the alleged time of the fictional Jesus.

Now, which makes more sense: that this was reality? or that this is just religious B.S. cooked up to make all the more martyr out of the fictional Jesus?
