There is no "default position" to interpret everything Paul writes. This search for a "default position" smacks of circular reasoning and intellectual laziness.

I'm not aware of Paul ever explicitly claiming that any man was an authority for any specific assertian of Paul.
Duh. Paul's unique assertions did not come from any man.

Thus we have it on good authority that regarding any supposed specific assertian of Paul such as his Gospel of mission to the Gentiles , christ crucified, er, what was Paul's Gospel again Doug?
Paul's good news for gentile converts was that they didn't have to adhere to the Law.

He did not obtain this good news from any man but directly from the risen Jesus.

No kidding.

You've got nothing but circular reasoning to add to spin's selective attention to the evidence. You're both wasting my time.

You've been flogging this error for a long time: "Paul's good news for gentile converts". Paul's good news was for anyone who would listen, for neither circumcision nor uncircumcision count for anything. What counted was justification through faith. His is not ostensibly a gentile good news at all. You are forced to peddle this rubbish so that you can try to drive a wedge into Paul's gospel in order to colonize it with your theory of an already existent gospel of Jesus, but it was to Paul that god gave his revelation of Jesus and Paul doesn't admit such to anyone else.

Do you seriously kid yourself that Paul would claim derivation of any of his gospel from anyone but god??

He specifically says where he got the gospel from, so you have to define that gospel to suit your whims.

Well, go and contemplate your fantasy in peace and don't waste any more of your time.
