There's no Sabbath violation in Mark 3:1-6 or in Matt 12:9-14. The writer of Mark is indulging in irony; the Pharisees watch Jesus in hope of a Sabbath violation, and then immediately run out to plot -- still on the Sabbath (thus violating the Sabbath rule!).

No, but that's not the point. Suppose your wallet is stolen and you call 911. The dispatcher, after hearing of your loss, quotes Jesus' words and tells you there is no recourse. Are those words to live by?
