We must always distinguish between what we do as individuals and what the power of the state does. If the state started doing it, that would be pretty horrible, I agree.
This may turn into a new hobby horse for me, but the actual destruction has included invaluable texts. Some like Maccabbees and Ben Sira would probably be gone if Christians hadn't saved them.
Reminds me of the man who chopped down Shakespeare's mulberry tree, and did so merely to anger his neighbours. Such conduct violates the general moral principle "do not do to others" -- in this case the human race -- "what you would not like them to do to you."

If I'm going to meet an extremist in a dark alley I would prefer it to be 'her', and a nymphomaniac extremist rather than a Jewish extremist. It would be important to be clear on this before allowing the extremist to remove your trousers, or you might find yourself being circumcised!

No race has a monopoly on madness or intolerance, and no freedom is guaranteed in perpetuity. Life is always a mix of security and insecurity.

Personally I feel very lucky to live in modern times in a Western country; we enjoy a level of affluence and stability only dreamt of by our ancestors. Do I think this will last forever? Of course not. No one knows what the future brings, but human nature seems relatively unchanging from generation to generation, both the good and bad elements.

Particularly not the freedom to criticise Jews... or (if preferred) to defend Jews.

I'm in favour of criticising everybody. When did we get to vote that we weren't allowed to criticise this group, that group, etc etc?

At the moment we have a system of privileges, in a pecking order, sort of like poker, where a gay female moslem trumps a black atheist who trumps a white Christian. But would he trump a chinese Christian? (I don't know, since I don't make these rules).

All the best,

Roger Pearse

I suggest you ask Cultural Marxists, they seem to be the source of our current left-wing orthodoxy.

I'm no lover of political correctness, but it's naive to think that perfect freedom of speech has ever existed in groups larger than two people.
