Most critically trained scholars believe the gospels were written not by eyewitnesses to Jesus' ministry, but by people several generations later. And therefore the testimony from the gospels would not in any way, shape or form be admitted into a court of law trying to prove the resurrection, at least here in the United States. It is completely hearsay.

I seem to recall that somewhere in the bible it says that after the crucifiction, the Disciples fled from Jerusalem to Galilee, arriving the night after they set out, a distance of 70 some miles, requiring an olympic caliber performance by our indefatigable apostles. (who I can assume, could not afford horses)

It's amusing that the apologists always invoke the NT in these document proofs. That's because the earliest OT manuscripts we have are dated thousands of years after they were written, they are all of unknown authorship and dates, and they have all been extensively edited and redacted. And yet the veracity of the NT depends completely on this rickety foundation.

Yep. I was going to say the same thing (more or less).

Screw the NT. Screw Jesus. Screw Josephus.

Ask Mum if she knows who El is.

Ask Mum if she knows who Baal is.

Ask Mum if she knows who Asherah is.

Ask Mum if she knows who Chemosh or Milcom is.

Ask Mum if she’s ever read Deuteronomy 32:8-9 or Psalm 82.

Ask Mum if Yahweh ever singed his nose hairs when he blew fire from his mighty nostrils. :rolling:
