I am now in the process of uploading some tens of thousands of bible verse stubs. I am using the American Standard Version because it is public domain. It also links to several sites with multiple English translations and Hebrew or Greek.

I was able to do this automatically with some software I wrote. It's a slow process, but it should be done sometime tonight.

Let the games begin!

best wishes,
Peter Kirby

Does anyone have any idea what the logo should be? (In upper left, replacing the flower currently there.)

best,

Can you point me to a drawing of Porphyry's Tree?

I found an image here. It didn't seem a propos.

Here's the Japanese kanji symbol for contradiction:

How about "100%" with a circle and an x through it? Vague enough to encourage thought, but it gets the subtle point across.

I will be using the Japanese symbol for "contradiction" until someone submits better artwork to me. (It would be a 135x135 pixel GIF or PNG with transparency.)

The Young's Literal is apparently public domain as well. I find that some 'interpretations' that are supportable in other translations disappear in this one.

Peter,

Kudos to you on an excellent idea! :notworthy

For quite some time I have been wanting to do a scholarly annotated commentary on the Bible. The Skeptics Annotated Bible is a noble attempt but falls short on its face in several aspects. This should prove to be much better. If you need an administrator, I happily volunteer my services. But to make it better than the SAB, we need to include examples of inerrantists' attempts to resolve these contradictions and how they fail. I have James Patrick Holding specifically in mind. Doing a detailed reply to many of these attempts at resolving errors and discrepencies would be doing a great service to the skeptical community. In fact, we can invite essays and responses from Christian apologists be it Holding, Glenn Miller, and others while quoting written responses from Gleason Archer, Norman Geisler, and others.

Let me know!
