Post Does the bible advocate killing unbelievers?

I need help finding a verse in the N.T. that advocated killing unbelievers. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a 5 dollar bet riding on this, so I hope I can find something!

2 Chronicles 15:13

How's that baby?

Yeah I know...I always get 2 Cor confused with 2 Cro. Why does the New Testament quote the old so often when so much of the Old is tossed out by the New?

hahhahah

Had me fooled (momentarily). Simon Magus was put to death several times because he played the game and kept the money instead of sharing it. He has several alias. He got put to death with his mistress (Martha) here in Acts.

ACT 05:05 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

thanks, offa

Rev 6:10-11 might do it for you.

The NT has no direct language that I can see, though Paul comes close when he wishes that unbelievers be castrated. Gal 5:12 (this verse is translated more ambiguously in some versions). Intolerance toward unbelievers is a feature of the NT; the Skeptics Annotated Bible has a list of many:

Don't you think you're stretching the meaning a bit in this interpretation?... As in utterly rewriting the verse sort of stretching.

NASB: How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?

As a call to kill people on Earth, it is pretty clear. In context, it's a call for revenge on those who killed believers.

No, in some versions they use "cut off," (KJV) in others, it says "castrate." In some it says "mutilate," which is pretty damn clear. NIV uses "emasculate" even clearer. It doesn't seem much of a stretch from 'emasculate' to "castrate" in other versions.

I checked at Bible Gateway, so maybe all their versions of Galatians 5:12 are wrong.

In the narrative attributed to Luke, Jesus tells a parable about a nobleman, his servants, and the citizens of his kingdom. The story ends with these words, "But as for these enemies [the citizens who hated the nobleman because he was severe] of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me." (19:27)

If Jesus was alluding to his own enemies (unbelievers) then he suggested (via the parable) that they should be slain.

The Skeptic’s Annotated Bible?

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
God likes Abel's dead animals better than Cain's fruits and vegetables. Why? Well, no reason is given, but it probably has something to do with the amount of pain, blood, and gore involved.
</font>
Yes, and God was about to reject Abel’s offering because he didn’t strap the carcass to a lawnmower and drag it all over the sacrificial altar.

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
An uncircumcised boy is to be abandoned by his parents and community
</font>
Funny that the actual bible verses aren’t given on this list:

Any male who has not been circumcised will no longer be considered one of my people, because he has not kept the covenant with me

I guess the imagery of a toddler crying in the rain and slowly starving to death is too good to pass up.

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
Lot's nameless wife looks back, and God turns her into a pillar of salt
</font>
Well now I’m just offended. The Bible really does teach intolerance against pillars of salt.

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
"And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him." What did Er do to elicit God's wrath? The Bible doesn't say. Maybe he picked up some sticks on Saturday.
</font>
I have a better theory. I like to picture Er as a kind and loving man, walking amongst the green valleys—when, lo and behold---He sees a kitten in a tree. Er is moved with compassion for this poor little creature crying from the branches of the tree, so he climbs up and saves it from it’s leafy prison when---a loud crackling voice booms from the Heavens: “Er! Kittens are unclean animals! You have blasphemed and now you will pay the consequences!”—suddenly the sky is filled with fire, and Er, a man with a wife and child to support is immediately consumed by the blaze --- and all because he saved a poor little kitten. Yahweh, you meanie :^(

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
God decides to kill Moses because his son had not yet been circumcised
</font>
Good Lord, who is this God guy who thinks he can play God with our lives?!

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
"He who sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed." If this commandment is obeyed, then the four billion people who do not believe in the biblical god must be killed.
</font>
Only because that mean old Yahweh wants to kill the billions of contemporary Israelites living under the Old Covenant. Don’t you know it’s Yahweh or the Highway?

Quote:
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">
People with "familiar spirits" are to be stoned to death. But how can we be sure that a person's spirit is too familiar? The good book doesn't say, it just says to kill them
</font>
Hello? “Familiar spirits”? Can someone tape Sabrina the Teenage Witch for this guy? BTW, I'm writing to the webmaster and asking him to write the word "kill" in big red bloody-drippy letters; It's hard to harden your heart against Jesus when webmasters are this lax.

Any man or woman who consults the spiritsof the dead shall be stoned to death. Any person who does this is responsible for his own death.

etc. etc. etc.

I’m going on a road trip today, but if anyone cares I’m creating a website refuting this claptrap – I’ll post the URL when I’m done
