Amen! I've seen two funerals in the past few months and this is the number one message: without Christian HOPE, life is not worth living. And at funerals, this message is delivered when people are their most emotionally vulnerable. Strong emotional attachment to this all-or-nothing version of hope is an effective blinder to rational arguments of any kind.

No one rises from the dead? Ever heard of Smith Wigglesworth? Maybe you should make a trip down to West Africa to see what goes on in the crusades. Your carnal mind probably won't believe it. Mine probably won't either. But if witnessed with your own eyes, I don't think you can reasonably conclude that such things don't happen.

True: No one rises from the dead?

You got it!

T: Ever heard of Smith Wigglesworth?

No.

T: Maybe you should make a trip down to West Africa to see what goes on in the crusades.

No, I don't think so. If people come back to life in West Africa, they should come back to life here in Texas as well. Thus far, there is no evidence that dead people come back to life.

My "carnal" mind is sensible, therefore, it requires empirical evidence. Just present verifiable scientific evidence demonstrating that dead people come back to life and I will be the first to examine it. I will be waiting.

Well, too bad you haven't. Smith Wigglesworth raised a man from the dead and I'm pretty sure it was right here in the in the U.S. back in the early 1900s. No one distputes the facts of his miracles. No one denies they happened.

Well, dead people cannot raise themselves from the dead if that's what you're getting at. But the Spirit of God gives life. You wouldn't believe the things that are going on in this day. In Texas where you are, nobody prays to God and has enough faith for Him to raise a dead person.

You want scientific evidence. You will never get it. You want to know why? Men do not hold the power to giving life to a dead body. Only God does. A doctor or any other scientist has no clue how to raise a dead man. He is just like you and me. People have only been raised from the dead when the name of Jesus has been claimed. His name carries with it that kind of authority. Yes, people have been raised from the dead. But it's not my problem if you don't want to believe. You really should take a trip to West Africa. It would open your eyes. Once you see and you still don't believe, well then I will have to say you are very blind.

Raising the dead cannot be scientifically demonstrated. Men are at a loss to describe how it happens. We do know that when it has happened, the name of Jesus has been claimed. It has never happened otherwise.

Y'all need to wake up to the spiritual reality.

p.s. I don't know if Americans today are ready for this sort of thing.

Really? Was he clinically dead? Was it confirmed by a doctor, or several, that
were not involved with him? Funny, you'd
something that would be well publicized.
I've never even heard of the guy.

um, don't DOCTOR's revive dead people at times? Are we talking brain death, or simply no pulse? Tru Thinker, if God can raise the dead, there should be plenty of proof, like healing a person hooked up to a machine showing flatline brain function then coming back. I also wonder, if he can raise the dead, how come he can't grow a limb back? Seems easier.
