They do blaspheme who say: Allah (the The father ) is one of three (in a Trinity): for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them .(Quran 5:73)

Which post is this in response to? You're not going to post the whole bible, or Kent Hovind is not god (which was, of course, sarcasm?) |

Great. The Bible says God exists. How do we know that the Bible is accurate? Heck if I know.

Boy, if there is a thread that belongs in the Special Christian Discussion forum, this is it. |

I think there is no proof of this outside the Bible, so just forget the Bible: it's flaky because unsupported. |

The chain of inferences and claims is so tenuous that this quote's actual evidentiary value is zero. Even with considerable historical scholarship to shore up the later inferences (we can be fairly confident that the translation and copying are accurate), we have no way of verifying Isaiah's testimony and thus we can view the evidence of your bible as only probability that Isaiah made a particular claim. This thread should be titled (at best), Isaiah testifies to God's existence. [ August 25, 2001: Message edited by: SingleDad ] |

As there's little meaningful discussion that can happen in this thread, I'm giving it the Special treatment. If you'd like to start a new thread on some topic that's relevant to this forum (for example, an argument that the testimony of the prophets is accurate, or something along these lines), feel free to do so.
