Angry I'm Pissed

Christians, the fact that as an answer to the longing of the mind to know our fate and beginning, "god did it" doesn't suffice for a lot of people. Even if somehow I was able to supress my skepticism and believe it, it doesn't answer me. That feeling inside that inspires me to ask the question in the first place is not satisfied with such a vague intangible answer. So people just accept that they don't know and can't know and call themselves agnostics. For this we are going to burn in hell according to you. We are heathens and we are damned, christians are condescending to us and god is gonna send us to hell for eternal misery. But he loves us.

How Fucked up is that....

You all need a slap in the face followed by a swift kick in the ass. Yea, Im a little pissed, as I write, I get more in touch with how completely arrogant and self ritcheous christians are. Then you take that beleif system and label everyone else in the world as believers or nonbelievers and treat them accordingly. Well, Im sick of padding my opinion, buncha damn judgemental fools. I used to have respect for christians, now I have nothing but resentment for them. Reading all of the posts by xians on this board really has given me a good idea of the mindset christians. So involved in their own belief system and so much personal capital invested in that belief system, that you get defensive when anything challenges it and never even give the argument a chance. You call it the work of the devil or some nonsense like that. You all seem to have lost your ability to reason.

I feel like goin to church, walking to the front and fliping off every one of them. I'm sick of being passive, worrying about the feelings of others. They impose on my life without any remorse. They use their numbers for influence and power to include christians in social and work related areas also to influence politicians to legislate according to their fuckin bible.

So dammit, when I encouter one, the gloves are comin off. If I get into a religious discussion with some christian, he's eithor gonna hate me afterwards or he will no longer be a christian.

Duuude… I’m certainly not one to advocate physical violence against those with whom I disagree, but why the sudden hostility?

I haven’t seen Christians use “the work of the devil” argument on these boards. I don’t doubt that they have, but could you provide an example so we can see what you’re talking about.

Peace,

Polycarp

Talking

First, I never said physical violence, my only intent is public humiliation, ridicule, and even personal insults when called for, and damnit, sometimes they are just called for.

I've heard, the devil put the dinosaur bones there to decieve us.

I've heard the devil makes you question jesus and god.

those are 2 of them but the majority of the times I have heard of that is in trying to explain scientific evidence that is contradictory, the basic argument that if it doesn't agree with the bible, it is the work of the devil.

I think my recent pissedoffedness is due to being in the bible belt too long. If I stand on my first post and let into every christian I can, I'll literally have no friends, probably won't have a job after a while. I guess I'm just fed up, Im sick of being considered a heathen, Im sick of the sideways looks when people ask me what church I go to and the the assumption that I go to church. When these christians realize Im agnostic, Im automatically treated like a guest whenever Im around them. I'm sick of feeling guilty about questions regarding the bible because it may reveal to my peers that Im a heathen. Christianity is an assault on the individual. It requires you to discard your reason and common sense and submit to blind faith and this is a direct attack on the individuality of a person.

Jesus was one arrogant bastard wasn't he...

"Im god, do what I say" lmfao.

Exclamation

dvmprof,

I often agree with your attitude (I live in the Middle East - make that Biblebelt plus Qur'anbelt combined!), and the arrogance of religious people pisses me off too, but the way you say it it'll just reinforce all the misconceptions theists have about atheists - that they have no foundation for morals, nothing sacred in their lives etc. Maybe in the II discussion boards it's OK, but please avoid such phrases for all and sundry, it doesn't do but damages.

I doubt that the the Christians on this board (or any other Atheist discussion board for that matter!) are representative of Christians as a whole.

Hmmm... Your message has aroused my curiosity. In what ways exactly do you think they're different?

You sound like you have a severe case of 'funditus' an over exposure to funda-mentalism, most Xians I know don't talk like this.

the xians in my area Bible Belt Central, have all the Gays going to Hell, and shouting it on their Radio Programs KSLR every single day... The rope in the State Reps and every state and local official they can to interview and reinforce this same anti-gay and anti-abortion message, they have a choice and they need to change and don't allow them any rights, freedoms etc. Like the previous post, if I crossed off the people I know who are christians I would lose most everyone I know. So I destroy from within, I get some good amunition from this site and tear at them little by little, the christians on this site are doing more damage than they think to other xians.

They Think they can change you or prevent new people coming to this site from becoming agnostic etc. But that won't happen, we won't change them and they won't change us. But we get stronger by the fight so we can change the minds of those xians we deal with on a daily basis that are not as anal as the thiest are here and just half way believe.

This is a great work-out area for learning to deprogram half ass christians on a local basis.

excuse the grammer... to tired to care tonight
