For another argument against God that's also related to the issue of sexual orientation, see Pope vs. Gays: SMACKDOWN! Scroll to "Part Three Point Five" for details. Or better yet, just read the whole damn thing; it's utterly delightful ("[The Pope] might not realize that 90 percent of the world ignore the Catholics until they need help melting a vampire.")

Thanks, Throbert! I haven't had a good guffaw like that in quite a long time.

Yes, this is an illogical offer. A more logical one than the disgusting idea of offering his young daughters for gang rape would have been:

19:5
And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
19:6
And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
19:7
And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
19:8

And Lot bent over and offered himself instead.

I had not studied this passage before. Lot's pretty disgusting.

Precisely!! You know, I hadn't thought of it from that angle, Rhea, but you are absolutely right.

I like a good ending to a story... with the Lot story, Lot ended up fucking both his daugthers until they both became pregnant. And this was the Guy God decided to save over all those other really evil dudes in S&G... Great example of a Godly man, and a fool for a God?

Here is what more than likely happened... Lot watched other men skrewing his daughters in S&G and got turned on by his whoring offspring. After an earthquake ruined the city killing most everyone, Lot saw his chance to cap his ugly old lady because she was the only thing standing in the way of his incestuous romp. He then had his daughters all to himself night after night until they both got pregnant.

Now that story makes more sense and flows correctly. Over the years, they cleaned it up and made him a hero and God's chosen... the Sicko Bastard.
