Post Bible Prophecy

The Holy Bible is the True Word Of God

According to the Bible, the proof is to
be found in the many Prophetic passages
within it's pages. About one quarter of
the Bible is made up of Prophecy - events
foretold before they happen. There are
approximately 10,000 Prophecies in the
Bible.

Bible Prophecy is unfolding before our
eyes in Israel - The Middle East Peace Process

A Future Prophecy:

A Leader from the Revived Roman Empire [Daniel chapters 2 & 7] will sign a 7
year Covenant [Peace Treaty] with Israel [Daniel 9:27] Within this Treaty, this
Leader will promise to protect Israel
and he "shall 'divide' the Land [Israel]
for gain." [Daniel 11:39] He will
'divide' Jerusalem. The Roman Empire
has been Revived, today we call it the
European Union.

Note: [Daniel 9:27] He shall 'confirm'
the Covenant, meaning the Peace Treaty
is already in place, he just signs his
name to it.

The Bible calls this Leader 'The Great
Deceiver'

Matthew 24:4; Mark 13:5; Luke 21:8

Jesus Speaking:

"Take Heed That No Man Deceive You."

Here are websites which list the many Prophecies:

That the Bible is the "True Word Of God" has not been demonstrated. As it stands, your statement is nothing other than a statement of faith which is little different than, for example, the claim of a Jew that the New Testament is certainly not the "True Word Of God" or the claim of a Muslim that the Koran is the "True Word Of God."

Regarding so-called Bible prophecy:
1.) Some of what is claimed by believers (both Jewish and Christian) to be Bible prophecy isn't really prophecy at all, at least not in the sense that it was intended as a prediction of future events.
2.) Some so-called Bible prophecy was written after the fact.
3.) Some Bible prophecy which is alleged to have been fulfilled, wasn't.
4.) Some so-called Bible prophecy which is allegedly "unfolding before our eyes" is so vague and imprecise that it has and always will be "unfolding before our eyes."

I suggest that you do some research on "the other side of the story," so to speak. You might start with PROPHECIES: IMAGINARY AND UNFULFILLED, by Farrell Till.

In the event that you are interested in discussing your claims, I have copied this topic from Feedback to the Biblical Criticism & Archaeology forum in order to facilitate discussion.

If you want to talk about prophecy, how 'bout the revelation. I just read that book again and boy, is it silly.

For instance:
"And the stars of the heaven fell onto the Earth.." Rev 6:13

Fell onto the earth?! Makes it sound like they are little lights strung slightly above our heads.

God tells us through the Prophet
Isaiah that the Holy Bible is the
Word Of God and God tells us that
the future has been foretold.

Isaiah 46: 9-11

" Remember the former things of
old: for I am God, and there is none
else; I am God, and there is none
like me, Declaring the end from the
beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and
I will do all my pleasure: Calling
a ravenous bird from the east, the
man that executeth my counsel from
a far country: yea, I have spoken
it, I will also bring it to pass;
I have purposed it, I will also do
it."

God tells us that the Prophets of
the Holy Bible wrote the Scriptures
under the direction of the Holy
Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16

"ALL Scripture was given by
inspiration of God."

2 Peter 1:21

"For the prophecy came not in
old time by the will of man:
but Holy men of God spake [and
wrote] as they were moved by the
Holy Ghost."

God tells us that He will not
allow the Holy Bible - The
Holy Scriptures - The Word Of
God to be tampered with.

Revelation 22: 18-19

"For I testify unto every man that
heareth the words of the prophecy
of this book, If any man shall add
unto these things, God shall add
unto him the plagues that are
written in this book:

And if any man shall take away
from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his
part out of the book of life, and
out of the holy city, and from
the things which are written in
this book."

Why not? Van Impe gets his tidbits from the wire services, just like everyone else. So he's a dispensationalist Matt Drudge. Big deal.

Ah. So how do we know the Bible is inerrent? Because the Bible says so. This is a somewhat circular argument.

Christianity is false. The true God is the invisible pink unicorn.

This post is the inerrent Word of God.

See - you've got to believe me now.

Prove that God wrote these bits. Hell, it's far from certain that they were even written by the men they are attributed to.

Wrong, the bloke who wrote Revelation tells us that he thinks that God will be a bit nasty to anyone who tampers with the Book of Revelation. The Bible did not exist at the time Revelation was written.

I have seen Van Impe's program. To my great disgust, the TV reception is lousy where I live, and TBN is just about the only channel which comes through clearly (must be a miracle).

Anybody who thinks that the European Union is in any way related to the Roman Empire needs to get out more. You've never been to Europe, have you?

Anybody who thinks that one of the European Comissioners is the Antichrist needs professional help.

Anyone who takes Jack Van Impe seriously should be in a padded cell.

Did someone say TROLL?

Thanks for the links anyway. I shall add them to my collection of lunatic fundie sites.

Delilah writes:

There are many words that come to
mind when I think about the Book of Revelation, however, "silly" is not
one of them!!!!

Revelation 6: 12-17

This is the Sixth Seal - this is a
Judgment

Stars symbolize the Heavenly Bodies.

There will be Great disturbances in the Heavenly Bodies.

Go to any search engine and type in
Bible Commentaries. You will find
numerous Commentaries on the Bible.
This will help you as you read and
study the Book of Revelation. The
Book of Revelation has a great
amount of symbolism within its pages.
This is why this book appears "silly"
to you. However, once you learn what
the symbolism means I don't beleive
that you will feel that the Book of Revelation is "silly".

Laura's posts are true proselytizing. Can you imaging that, here on the sec web?

Seriously though, If I were to write a book presenting some 10,000 prophesies, I'm sure that 2000 years hence, some of them may prove to be true.

Anyone wanna bet?
