Your defense of CLB is pathetic. And revealing. No one goes to far for you do they Mike? At least so long as they target Christians.

WRONG!

The question was asked, "who would die for a belief they knew they made up?"

I answered to show how silly this argument is.

I never made the claim you attribute to me, so I'd appreciate it if you stopped putting words in my mouth.

I have to second that ... Bad logic bending of the facts etc should be pointed out regardless ..... IMHO the ends do not justify the means .... Layman's one-liner was in context ... even if he coulda / shoulda replied more directly to the topic...

My bad. But I did use the word "seem" after all.

I guess I was attempting to apply your post more toward the general topic of the thread. In other words, why be a Christian instead of a Koreshian, Jonesonian, or Applewhitonian? Oh well, whatever...

Then, Rodahi, Matthew says that Jesus reproved Peter and healed the man's ear. Did David Koresh help any of the ATF agents he killed? Did David Koresh give himself up to the authorities willingly and without a fight? No on both accounts. Jesus was different.

Wrong again, Ish.

1. I quoted what is presumed by virtually all critical scholars to be the earliest tradition. BTW, nowhere does "Matthew" mention the name of the follower who struck the slave and cut off his ear. Nowhere does "Matthew" say that Jesus healed the ear. You have confused the embellishment of "Luke" with the embellishment of "Matthew."
2. Where is your evidence that David Koresh personally killed anyone?
3. According to "Mark," the group of armed men seized Jesus. We don't really know how much he struggled.
4. If Jesus was different, what was one (or more) of his disciples doing carrying a sword in the first place?
5. According to "Mark," Jesus didn't lift a finger to help the slave, nor did he say anything at all to his armed follower.

THE INTERLINEAR GREEK-ENGLISH NEW TESTAMENT:

"And immediately yet as he is speaking, comes up Judas, one being of the twelve, and with him a crowd great, with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders...And they laid upon him hands their, and seized him. But one a certain of those standing by, having drawn the sword struck the bondsman of the high priest and took off his ear. And answering Jesus said to them, As against a robber are ye come out with swords and staves to take me?" (Mk. 14:43-48)

Cool

Husain ben Ali, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, died in defence of Islam in the face of the tyrannical, sinful, lustful, wine-drinking khulafaa' (caliphs) of the house of Umayya. Let us all accept Shi'i Islam, for its founder died for the faith a real martyr's (shaheed) death. Would you say he died for lie? By no means! Therefore Shi'i Islam is true. QED.

Whose defending CLB? You called him a "bigot." I am merely denying that the charge of bigotry can be supported by this thread. Can you defend this accusation?

I don't see what is "bigoted" about CLB's post. He put up two arguments, and then discussed his points. Perhaps you can show me why CLB is a bigot. I haven't read much by him, so perhaps there is history here I am not aware of.

Okay, the charge of bigotry cannot be justified by this one post. Of course, it was pretty clear that I was not talking about this one post.

I was responding to the following observation:

However the point you make about the the believe of others is not valid evidence without support is a good .... from reading some of your other posts I think you are perhaps too agressive and often go beyond the facts ....
CLB is a bigot. I could compile the evidence and some of his/her quotes that would make a sailor blush, but I'm pretty sure you are familiar with it.
