Post Why no dinosaurs?

Why aren't dinosaurs ever mentioned in the bible?

If the bible is a story of creation and the beginnings of the world... why no dinosaurs? Some even believe it is literal truth... or even figurative truth. But, either way, there are tons of things missing from this sacred tome. Many earth-bound creatures who never seem to make an appearance.

Why was god so limiting in his treatment of his own world? He ignores dinosaurs and kangaroos. He ignores Eskimos and Japanese. This one book of moral stories and words to live by excludes so much about the world we live in, and those who inhabit it.

Why?

My Bible is printed in Chicago, so not only does it ignore dinosaurs, kangaroos, Eskimos and Japanese, it doesn't say a GODDAM THING about Michael Jordan.

Cool

Genesis 6:4 "There were giants on the Earth in those days..."

Granted, that could be a reference to Shaq.

And, anyway Grumpy, those passages are generally interpreted to mean that angels came down, had relations with humans, and created giant humans.

No mention of any NBA star anywhere in the bible... wassupwitdat?

The fundamentalists hold that the Old Testament references (can't remember which books) to "Leviathan" refer to Dinosaurs that existed alongside man in the first few thousand years after Creation. Then, of course, since Noah couldn't catch them all, they all simply drowned during the big flood....giving us our neat little fossil bones to dig up now.

Of course, there are those really ignorant ones around that hold that dinosaurs never existed at all, and that God just "poofed" in some large lizard bones in the Earth for us to play with.

As the saying goes, "You can believe anything you want to believe, whether it's true or not makes no difference....."

Almost. That would be that the devil put them there to fool us into not believing in god and creation. My past ignorance astounds me to this day.

I believe that species homo sapien was at one time a lot smaller than we are now. Then the angels came and interbred. Homo sapien became a lot larger. Dinosaurs became lizards. It makes sense to me.

No, according to a Southern Baptist preacher
I once heard:

Back then everything lived longer (witness
Noahs age). Reptiles never stop growing...
therefore the dinosaurs are just normal
reptiles that kept growing for hundreds
of years.

Still LMAO at the thought of a 6 inch tall
TRex scurring across the road in front
of my car..."I'll get you
some day!"
